Monica becomes a college grad 
The family of Monica Alicia Cummings gathered together on Saturday, May 10, 2003, to celebrate her graduation from South Carolina State University. Monica plans to take one year off from the rigors of academia before going to graduate school.

Green graduates from Norfolk State
Beatrice Green of James Island graduated cum-laude from Norfolk State University in May 2003.
In attending Norfolk State, after graduating from Ashley Hall School in Charleston, she received a full volleyball scholarship.
She is pictured above with her friend Tracey Addison at a graduation celebration thrown by her parents Attorney Robert and Sylvia
Gailliard. Keyboardist Wendell Nolan was the music for the evening.

Family and friend of William "Bear" Bryant came
out to celebrate his 60th birthday on Saturday, June 28, 2003, at
four o’clock p.m.There were plenty of people there and plenty of food, real
food, to satisfy the hungriest appetite. Mr. Bryant is married to Bernice, and
has a son – Shown.

Engagement
Michael Hughes, of North Charleston, and June Lee of
Summerville, would like to announce their engagement.
Mr. Hughes is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hughes, Jr. of
Bowie, MD; and Miss Lee is the daughter of Betsy Lee of San Diego, California.
The groom-to-be is a graduate of the University of Maryland
(2002), College Park. Mr. Hughes works at Channel 5 (WCSC-TV) as a general
assignment television reporter.
The bride-to-be graduated from Gompers High (San Diego) in
1995, and works as an optician at Lens Crafters.
The wedding is planned for the fall at the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah’s Witnesses in San Diego.
